Kate Torgersen

Owner and Senior Consultant

Kate has over 16 years of practical and academic experience in the golf course and conservation industries working on several highly-ranked  Australian golf courses. Her career began with an apprenticeship in Turf management where she soon discovered a passion and need to assist and showcase the good golf courses can provide to the environment and community.

Gaining extensive experience in the conservation industry Kate has managed several large projects converting mown areas into native areas. Her passion to educate has been showcased in the regular environmental articles written for the turfgrass management journal, through the seminars and presentations within the industry and wider sports sustainability community. 

Kate has developed EGSA to share her extensive knowledge and experiences that will assist the broader golf industry in sustainability and environmental management.

David Flood

Victorian Operations Manager

In 2019, after a lengthy career in the sport, David achieved his lifetime goal of becoming a Golf Course Architect.

Whilst playing for the Essendon Football Club and coaching in the AFL, VFL and TAC Cup, David studied to pursue a career as a Golf Course Architect. This professional enhancement opportunity was a component of the AFLPA and AFLCA career development program. He combined this further education while playing AFL and his early career as a Plumber and Gasfitter. He later transferred to the vocation of Turf Management where he worked at the Metropolitan Golf Club and Nhill Golf Club. Alongside the Diploma of Turf Management, David also completed modules in landscape design and computer-aided design (CAD).

In 2013, David joined golf course architect Thomson Perrett and remained at the firm for 7 years. During this period he worked alongside experienced golf course professionals on projects, which were local, interstate and international; refining skills in concept design, CAD, project management, master planning and budget allocations. David had input into the overall design of courses and was actively involved in overseeing master plan construction. His capacity to build strong effective relationships with Course Managers, Club Captains, Committees and Construction Teams is one of his strengths and integral in any golf course design project.
